This ministry, formerly known as the United Christian
Church Home, first opened its doors in 1959 providing
residential services to 20 residents.  Continued growth
through the 1960’s and 1970’s transformed the campus
into a continuing care retirement community with a total
capacity of 80 living units.  In 2000 a major strategic
planning effort led to the development of a new master
plan for the community and separate incorporation as a
not-for-profit ministry of the United Christian Church with
the new name of Countryside Christian Community.
The Christian heritage of the community offers many
benefits for residents, families and employees by adding
greater meaning and purpose to life, a cooperative
atmosphere and a focus upon others rather than self.
Countryside is a diverse community welcoming all faiths.
About 12% of the resident population embrace the United
Christian faith.

The United Christian Church is a small, evangelical
denomination formed in the 1860’s from a conservative
branch of the United Brethren Church and other local
evangelical groups of the time.  The denomination today
consists of nine congregations located in Lebanon,
Dauphin and Lancaster Counties who support various
missions and local outreach ministries.

The Countryside Christian Community seeks residents,
employees, volunteers and donors that embrace the
concept of
service to others as a way of living out the
example of Christ.  We encourage you to learn more about
the life and ministry of the people who make up
Countryside Christian Community by further investigating
